The world is mad, truly bonkers.

Was informed by a guy quoting for new flooring that if I removed the (not permanently fixed down) copper overlay in front of my enclosed fireplace (it has a glass front) then the chimney sweep (who the householder has to by law allow into the house) would report me. He seemed shocked when I told him that in England no such law exists...

Then the local rag arrives, front page, main story all about the 'blitzkrieg'* due in town on April 8 & 9. Not only are we given a warning about the blitzmarathon but they are also inviting us to vote online as to which roads they should target...
