Ladybird

The sharp frost at the beginning of the week has taken its toll on some of the more advanced magnolia blossoms, edging them with a charred brown. But I am still hopeful that not all will be ruined and, as long as it stays reasonably above freezing, there may continue to be a show of their gorgeousness.

The ladybirds hid, sensibly, but they have returned to the sage and the rosemary. My daffodils are coming on nicely and you were nearly treated to a tiny tete a tete group.

Yesterday's trip to Aston Hall, and along the Birmingham canals was great fun. Sadly, it was raining very hard as we made our way from Sherborne Wharf, up to Thomas Telford's dam on the Rotten Park Reservoir, and then back down to Gas Street Basin.

Those of us of a certain age remember The Opposite Lock :-)
