Chicken Land Begins

Coop is put together now we have to get the yard fenced for them. Too many roaming dogs, coyotes, raptor and owls to let them completely run free. but 24'x24' should give them plenty of room. This ground is incredibly stony so we are only burying the fence 6" instead of the recommended 12". The fence will be about 5' high with a mesh roof to stop the big birds. Our only real concern is raccoon who can climb and will just shred the mesh but seeing as the chickens will be locked up at night hopefully that won't be a problem. Not getting the chicks 'till mid April.

Then we'll have to get rid of that eyesore of building material that the owners left behind.
