autumn joy

thankful

my friends bought me flowers. and brought them to me as they returned the laundry they had done and folded. good god am i blessed.

my friends take such good care of me here. i dont know what to do with it all.

i suppose i should just rest in their love. and know it is mirroring an even greater love that does not forsake me.

knowing it is advent has been really helpful. just constantly being reminded that i am swept up in a story much grander than my own.

the hymn 'o come, o come emmanuel' has really been speaking to me of late. particularly:

O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel

oh thank God for the Incarnation. what hope and life and love there is in it.

today i will live in these realities.
