Gone fishing

Modern China.
Ten years ago this place in the picture was all fields, but now I'm looking at an artificial lake that sits in front of a spanking new shopping mall, surrounded by a park and highrise affluence.
And this chap has come fishing, squatting on the wall and casting his line amid last years' lotus stems.
Seems to me to be a perfect illustration of how this is a country where the old is embedded in the new....
