I met my friend Thu for lunch today in Japantown (it's her birthday!). I was a bit early so I wandered around a bit photographing some of the old abandoned buildings along 6th street. I've posted a few more of the photos here.

Although it only encompasses a couple blocks, San Jose's Japatown has quite a bit of history. Originally home to the city's Chinese population, Japanese residents established themselves in the late 1800s. It's one of the last 3 remaining Japantowns in the U.S.
