Sleepy Queen

Be(e)lieve it or not, more buzz in my life. This morning one of my cats stopped in front of a large insect indoors, I thought it was a big spider at first, but it was a big bumble bee...moving very slowly. If the cats had played with her they'd have regretted it i'm sure, I reckon she either had spent the winter behind the bookshelves or had come in yesterday through the open window. I took her outside and, being a blipper, went to get my camera! I got another chance to practice, but did not realise the setting was to black and white. She moved around a bit and looked at me from extremely close, and sat still. Very still. For so long I thought she had died of injuries I could not see, but I built some stones around her for shelter and protection, and this evening she was gone! Stones undisturbed. So good news I think. Some more pictures of her here. Wonder if she was a queen bee just coming (in and out of) hibernation.
