OOPS! I did it again!
In the last six years I have filled my wardrobe with suitable outdoor clothing, persuaded that, as the man says' "There's no bad weather, only the wrong clothes". Once I retired, nothing every seemed to wear out, so it's possible to extend one's choice rather than replace defunct gear. However, I have a problem.
PURPLE
It's all very well reciting the poem, but it can be taken too far. I have accumulated the following still wearable outdoor items:-
an antiquated but beloved cord jacket (purple)
a smart but ageing purple Hobbs pure wool coat (purple)
a wax-type raincoat with hood (purple)
a puffa style jacket (purple)
A golf waterproof (purple)
A new-this-year Salomon winter jacket for walking (purple)
So it was with delight that I spotted over the weekend a much needed summer weight waterproof jacket in beautiful turquoise. Unfortunately it was a Berghaus so it came in at £120. Thus it was that today I went to one of the discount warehouses which likes to cater for those who enjoy the Outdoors! Maybe they had the same or similar for less?. And lo! The "Deal of the week "was a Berghaus unlined, almost identical jacket , reduced from £90 to £60 !!!!! Fantastic deal. Unmissable! Exactly what I need so I have bought it.
