Postcrossings

Today I received my first postcard from the Postcrossings website. It was sent to me by Rezeda, who lives in a small town in Russia.
Postcrossings is a website that allows you to exchange postcards with people from all over the world. Once you sign up, you receive an address, which is randomly generated from their database, of another Postcrossings member. You choose a postcard, write a short message and send it to them with an ID number written on the card. Once they receive your card, they log the ID number on Postcrossings to show that it's arrived. Another Postcrossings member, again randomly selected, then receives an email with your address for them to send a card to you.
It seems like a great way to connect with people from all over the world - and I love the excitement of not knowing where the next postcard will come from or what it will be! I was moved to sign up after coming across a reference to it in an article in the 'Church Times (!)
