Merry-go-Round

There's a saying that goes something like, "Do something every day that scares you." Personally I prefer there to be something every day that makes you smile in a way you did when you were ten years old. So meeting friends at the German Market tonight and faced with an empty merry-go-round, well, there was only one outcome.

Not that it was a sensible outcome after lashings of bratwurst and sundry other teutonic fare (not entirely sure how genuine most of it is, but washed down with gluwhein, and a pint later in the Guildford, it didn't really seem to matter).

(This is Mary by the way, girlfriend of Iain, a friend from uni - Mary also now being a friend, obviously)

However, that still does not mean it is Christmas. It's merely December. I like to think that by rationing the festive excitement it makes it all the more enjoyable.

Although I did start some Christmas shopping.

I know.

I hate myself.

To make up for it I also bought myself a new pair of casual shoes; some replacement Oakley sunglasses using the absolutely wondrous customer service of, well, Oakley; and tickets, with dinner, to the Royal Ballet in Lahdahn Tahn in March next year to see Romeo and Juliet. It's been an expensive day. But as Cheryl Kerl's bio says on Twitter - "Ah'm woath it an that an all so ah am".
