Lofty

This bit of the city makes me think of New York or Chicago or some other northern US city. I've never been to New York or Chicago, right enough, the nearest I've been is Albany and from what I saw it didn't look like that.

But all those films, TV and V I Warshawski books have created some sort of general image in my head. I can't be wildly wrong though, given all the filming that seems to go on here.
