Portobello People's Public Piano Project
After a short singing engagement we took a wander along the promenade to see this bell-tent, which is pitched right on the sand.
Named by the occupant as Portobello People's Public Piano Project the tent was set up a few days ago by 66-year old piano tuner Ben Treuhaft, after leaving home because his wife complained that he talked too much. Inside he has a piano, which anyone can come and play - although there was a noticeable silence when we walked past.
Concerned for his safety, the council is not happy with this and members of the public question what might happen if less desirable groups decided to settle on the beach on a more permanent basis.
Mr Treuhaft remains resolute and determined to stay put - so far he appears to be winning.
(Looking on the horizon in large, to the left of the tent is North Berwick Law).
