Winchester Cathedral Crypt

I promised to blip this again (after my blip of the Anthony Gormley statue 'Sound II' on Monday 25th November 2013.) Then, there was no water and I joined a tour of the crypt.
The crypt which was built soon after 1079 is a well. Many Cathedrals had such a well as it spoke of the living water promised by Christ as a gift to his faithful.
This crypt floods regularly as the water table is very close to the surface.
