Darwen Steps

These are the underside of the steps leading up to the top of the Jubilee Tower on Darwen Hill, which was completed in 1898 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and also to celebrate the victory of the local people for the right to access the moor which was opened to the public on 24th September 1898.
