Harrowing
9.7C and mostly bright with sunny spells. One short shower of hailstones. Breezy.
After grocery shopping, and before lunch, Apothecary7 and I took Maeve the Deerhound for her walk. We went up past the church and just before turning down the bridle path to head for the shore we saw this tractor towing its giant harrow up and down the field to the North of the road. The fields all around have seen a burst of tractor activity in the last week. Ploughing, harrowing, and sowing. The overwintered crops are all growing away fast too.
Just before lunch Apothecary7 and I trimmed back all the lavender plants in the border next to the pavement in the front garden. The next job will be to prune the buddleias in the back garden and I will put the prunings over by the beech hedge in a corner for bugs to have for a winter home.
