My dad away back in the 30's probably, in Dundee.

He worked with his dad, until the Fifers (out of-work-coalminers from the Fife mines) started a price war by bringing coal to Dundee, and put the Creegans out of business.

He used to carry two hundredweight bags (one on top of the other) of coal up four flights of tenement stairs.
