Art auction at the British Embassy
The BSPCA organized an art auction tonight to raise money for their stray cat and dog neutering programme. My friend had this brilliant idea to use an app on her ipad that captured colours when a cat tapped the screen. She got the stray cats at the shelter to have a play and made prints from the most artistic ones. She then got them mounted and framed and sold them off on the night. She also included a biography of the "artist" on the back together with a photo and a plea for a home. The ambassador's cat also made his artistic debut and his work was on sale as well. Several local artists, myself included, donated artwork for a silent auction as well. The Ambasssador hosted the event in the Embassy gardens. It was a lovely evening. We bought a cat print. This is a photo of the beautiful cake that they had to celebrate the event. The cat print we bought is in the background. Well done Penny, your hard work paid off.
