A Sunday morning botanical
Keri and I made our way to Edinburgh Academy Junior School on Arboretum Road this morning. We offered out our bodies for a final massage exam - basically meaning we got free half hour seated massages. Wonderful.
Afterwards, we went for a walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens. There are 25 Glasshouses in the Gardens, and here you can see the Victorian Palm House in the background. I'm not sure what these flowers are, but they were very pretty!
When the Victorian Palm House was built in 1834, it was the first glasshouse to be built in the Botanics and also the largest palm house in Britain. Most of the world's palm plants grow in tropical rainforests, so the temperature in the palm house is between 18-24 degrees with a relative humidity of 80%.
Not that we needed the extra heat today, as you can see its a glorious day in Edinburgh.
We then went for a bit of a wander and ended up in Holyrood Park. My feet are a bit tired and sore after the morning's walk though so I've now got them up on the couch!
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday!
