josh the winemaker..

...is one of a very extravagant three!! winemakers at small winery MyattsField here in the Bickley Valley.
They make fantastic wines from unusual (for Aus) grapes and are gaining quite a reputation. In fact, one of the group who gathered today for a 'barrel tasting' of the current vintage brought with him the current edition of The World Atlas of Wine in which they get a mention in the Australian section.

This year Josh, Rachel and the other winemaker Josh are having a 'head to head to head' making a chardonnay in their own particular ways.
The outcome will be 'judged' at blind tasting dinner events in Perth, one of which will be here in the hills.

On this J's silver tank he has the following written on a piece of tape.
'Premier, Creme de la creme, A1, Totally Awesome Dude' !
No shrinking violet then!

But as the catch phrase of Mr Kipling of cake baking fame ( the poms would know this one!) was Mr K makes 'exceedingly good cakes', it is all true!
He, and R and the other J, do make exceedingly good wines.
