Birthday party day
Today was India's forest skills birthday party day, 12 children dropped off at 9am at our house full of excitement. Den building, making a mud slide, tracking for miles, tree tag, campfire lunch, adventure course and the actual muddy mud slide awaited them. They had such fun and it was really lovely to see them all helping each other. A truly free range party. This photo with an amazing view is where the trackers found the team that had laid down the arrows for us to track them down with.
My sister made the most amazing 8 cake, a green woods with lots of chocolate splashes and it was wolfed down after their campfire hotdogs. They went home 3 hours later literally covered in mud, smelling of campfire and full to the brim of fresh air. Some friends stayed for a craft afternoon and watched a film with popcorn.
I went to the gym when they were collected at 6pm completely unaware that I was wearing that popular perfume eau de campfire. India went to bed very happy with her party day. Heidi had been on a treat day with my parents who had collected her at 9am and dropped her home after an aquarium adventure to watch 'Frozen' with the big girls. Mark went to a wedding and I fell asleep at 11pm in the middle of uploading my blip!
