Freeing the Nets

We woke to a dull grey day. It was such a disappointment as some of our Camera Club members had planned an early morning walk up the Wither Hills Farm Park. The one we planned for last Sunday was cancelled due to the remnants of Cyclone Lusi arriving on our doorstep. So today was meant to be the day.
I picked up Joe and Ricky and drove to the Farm Park Car-park at 6.30am. There we met up with two other Club members and we all trudged up to the “Rotary Lookout". There was no point in travelling further as the sky was still cloudy and the light flat and grey. We did manage to capture some images looking to the eastern horizon and then turning to the western horizon. The light was minimally better in those areas... But we still had fun and lots of photography talk.
Later in the day I walked the dogs. The clouds had almost dispersed and the day was much warmer. We side-tracked to the Wither Hills Vineyard area. There a group of Vineyard Workers were just starting to go about the task of freeing up the bottoms of the enormous amounts of netting that have been covering several rows at a time. They were from Thailand. I established that by calling a greeting in Thai and having them cheerily reply. The girls cover themselves from head to toe with hats and even cloths across their faces to shield them from the sun. In this image two of them are lifting the nets to free them up for the big machinery that will no doubt be moving through in the next day or so. I hope to capture those machine actually removing the netting prior to harvest.
