OO had fun at the gardening-themed birthday party today, but what she remembered most from it wasn't coloring her pot, preparing the soil or planting the plant, but the intimate encounters with the lady bugs.

I'm not a big fan of bugs, but OO fell in love with them right away. She was very careful to not step on them and made sure everyone else took good care of them. No wonder she got quite upset and was misty-eyed when she witnessed the boys stomped on them and killed them for fun. She kept asking me, why would they wanna kill the lady bugs? *sob*

I wish I had a better answer for her than "I don't know either, my dear."
