Earl Grey
A sunny spring day in the town centre. Only 1 week until I can climb the spiral staircase within the 130 feet column of Grey's monument- a rare event to celebrate Earl Greys 250th birthday.
Greys monument was erected in 1838 to honour Charles Grey, who is famously associated with my favourite drink, Earl Grey tea.
The statue lost his head in 1941 when it was struck by lightening. However, it was restored by 1947.
I can't wait to see the view from the top!
