Birthday
Today, I had a lovely day. Originally, I'd been going to head straight down to Manchester but in the end I needed to pop into the office first (we're very busy at the moment). However, by ten past ten I was on the train from Oxenholme down to Manchester to meet the ever-interesting Dom for coffee in the Cornerhouse. He also bought me a cake: such a gent!
After that, I wandered along Oxford Road to the Deaf Institute where I met Hannah (one of my daughters) for lunch. We both love it there and we had a very happy couple of hours, eating, drinking and chatting. It had been my plan to pop into Manchester and buy myself a treat after that but a quick evaluation of the train times and the logistics of the rest of the day resulted in me taking the train north instead. (I had a brief wait for the train, when I took this photo.)
After bobbing into the office to make sure everything was OK, I headed back across to Kirkby and picked up Dan and Abi, and later we were joined by two more of my daughters, Izzy and Milly, and then by the Minx and her daughter. Izzy had made me a cake and the Minx cooked us all chicken fajitas, while we all - well, those of us old enough - drank Prosecco. Plus I had loads of terrific, imaginative presents and I went to bed feeling very happy indeed :-)
