It has been a beautiful sunny day, but more cloudy and windy as the day went on. The sun was deceptive as I thought it was quite warm but the temperature dropped suddenly mid afternoon. I tried to sit outside with a cup of tea and something to read, but I was chased back in by the cold.
We went out walking at dusk, one of our favourite times of day. Gradually the sky got a very weird look to it. And again, it was cold and windy, and I had left my hat and gloves behind which is unusual for me - I'm usually over-prepared. I took quite a few pictures of the sky in different directions. I've never really seen much like it and I even got a text from a friend in another part of the area saying that the sky looked so odd. I found out from another friend later that they had had a very strong and loud thunderstorm in London. I don't think we got anything here, but that would explain some of the weird colours and darkness of the clouds.
My biggest accomplishment of today was taking a car full of things to the 'tip'. Our council has a 'community refuse truck' stationed in a different area or village every Saturday morning. This week they were located quite close by so I was able to take advantage of it and get rid of some big items. Because it was sunny this morning, I was able to put the top down on my car (a convertible) which is the only way I can get big bulky things into it! Later in the day I thoroughly vacuumed my car out as I'd been waiting to do so until after I'd used it to haul my rubbish to the 'tip'. I love having a nice clean car!
