Milecastle 39
We set off today for a week in Northumberland.
As we travelled up the M6 the weather was interesting as we reached the Lake District the hill’s and mountains were white with snow and over to the east the sky was almost black, so we thought that walking part of Hadrian’s Wall was going to be wet and windy but when we arrived the sky’s were beginning to clear and the day just got better and better.
I took quite a few images along the way including the famous Sycamore Gap which I will post on flickr later in the week, but have chosen this view of Milecastle 39 as we made our way back to the car with the late afternoon light as today’s blip.
