Delicate Green of Spring

A sunny day today, also the first day of Spring. What better way to show it than the first shoots of green from a willow tree beside the river.

I love the way that leaves change from this delicate Spring green to the intense green of late summer, before the trees switch off production of chlorophyll and autumn begins.
