That's when the friends of a soon-to-be-married man heap humiliation on their victim by covering him with various nasty things and tying him to eg the cross in front of the cathedral. Then he is held on the back of an open truck racing around the town and he may even be thrown into the harbour. Aren't weddings romantic?
