Preparation is everything.

Friends are due in to supper tonight and M has been in here element researching a new recipe for the main course, and then preparing it along with starters and desserts. I, on the other hand, have been tasked with menial chores, and preparation of the wine which cannot be rushed. My main contribution has been keeping out of the way, which I believe I have successfully achieved.
