New name!

This is a rather nice shrub from Yunnan, in China. It was given to me as a young plant in 2001 by my friend Mike Swift from the Isle of Mull, who collected it as seed while travelling out there.

It was originally thought to be Mahonia confusa, but Mike emailed me yesterday to say that it had now been positively identified as Mahonia duclouxiana. It has flowered for the last two or three years and is now about 8-9ft tall.

There are many new plants out there waiting to be introduced and identified!
