RESULT!
One of our very good friends from church died a couple of weeks ago, and her church family has been asked to make cakes for the tea after the service next Monday, so Mr. HCB and I set to in the kitchen- not literally, of course!
Decided to make a Banana and Pecan Tray Bake using some pecan nuts brought back by our lovely friend, Lisa, from her home in Texas, and who now lives in the flat next door in Boscombe. She tells me that she picked them straight from the tree growing in their front yard and they were a miracle crop because the trees haven't produced much in a few years. Special thanks to Lisa's parents for allowing her to bring so many back for us. How blessed are we?
We also made some Mincemeat Muffins, using the last of our Christmas mincemeat - and they look and smell delicious.
The "Result" in the title is because Mr. HCB said his arms were aching from creaming and mixing - so he has decided we will buy a mixer - YAY!!
I took a picture of Mr. HCB sampling the pecan nuts so he said he would reciprocate and get me licking the spoon - so here we both are.
The sun is shining, the cakes are looking good and Mr. HCB is about to watch football on TV - so think I had better get out and look for that mixer - I'll ice the cakes later!
Hope you all have a great weekend.
