Commanding Views of the Thames
Within a stone's throw of the Olympic mountain biking venue, stand these ruins of Hadleigh Castle. I found it this afternoon, on a relatively minor detour on the way home from work.
Until very recently, I had no inkling of an idea that this place exists. As well as the ruins and open countryside, it holds one of the best views in the county, commanding a lofty position above the Thames estuary.
Go LARGE.
