No Miracles
Visited the fantastic JD Fergusson exhibition at the Gallery of modern art today. this was set up in the garden outside.
A simple message, it is a work by Nathan Coley and the words are taken from a seventeenth-century royal proclamation made in a French town believed to have been the frequent site of miracles.
Above the door across at Gallery 1 there is another slogan by Martin Creed which pronounces "Everything is going to be alright".
I found the slogans quite thought provoking. Everyday we are bombarded by meaningless advertising crap which also use imagery to tell you what to think. It is a bit more interesting to be just given some words and then attempt to find your own narrative or meaning.
