L is for Library

...Clapham. This purpose-built library opened two years ago and is a welcome addition to Clapham High Street. The building also houses my GP in state-of-the-art facilities, making a visit to the doctor almost a pleasure.

I'd wandered only a short way into the library today before finding Erich Maria Remarque's novel 'All quiet on the Western Front' staring at me and demanding to be borrowed and read. Maybe it will be an antidote to the hullabaloo on the home front one hundred years on from 1914.
