Kirby Muxloe Castle

Took Victor to Kirby Muxloe Castle this morning so he could see a real castle. It's very close to where we live. He loved it, especially the moat. We had to take shields, swords, and axes so him and Gaa could have a battle on the bridge. Took lots of pictures but I liked this one because Victor suddenly realised he could see the water rippling through the slats in the bridge. Battle was paused whilst he investigated it further. It's only open during the summer months so he wants to go back again then so he can walk through the big doors.

The castle was begun in 1480 by William Hastings during the period of The War of the Roses. It was never completed as he was executed by Richard III for treason.
