Hand-writing

We had Orla's parents' evening tonight. The teacher told us that they have recently moved on to writing independently. We already knew, as Orla has been doing a lot of writing at home. The report from school was very good. Orla is completely on top of all her work, is an enthusiastic contributor (sometimes too enthusiastic!) and is much more comfortable with the other children in her class. But, she still seems to have problems following very simple instructions, like bringing out her reading group when her group is asked. The teacher has to ask Orla specifically. It doesn't seem to be deliberate, she probably just has too many other things going on in her head. It doesn't seem to be a problem right now, but we'll just keep an eye on it.
