English Girl in Berlin

Circus des Horrors

It was a gloriously sunny day in Berlin so after breakfast at Milch & Zucker E and I headed down to the River Spree. Whilst enjoying a couple of beers we saw the Hoff being interviewed (best celeb spot ever).

We then headed further down the river and discovered Yaam (Young African Art Market) – and spent some time at the Cool Runnings Bar, an Afro-Caribbean beach bar complete with deckchairs so we could enjoy more beers in the sunshine. After a while sustenance was required so we went to Burgermeister – a burger bar situated in an old toilet beneath a railway bridge (more appetising than it sounds!).

We completed the afternoon with a visit to Urban Spree, a gallery based in a post-industrial compound, focused on street and graffiti artists, photographers and contemporary artists.

In the evening we went to Circus des Horrors. After entering the tent and being chased by chainsaw wielding monsters we enjoyed a circus show which included acrobats, contortionists and pain performance artists.
