Bad Luck? (80/365)

Many years ago when we lived in South Africa we cut some peach blossom from our garden and displayed it in a vase - indoors. Afrikaans friends chastised us for doing so! They said that "peach blossom indoors brought bad luck"? I wonder if it's the same for Victoria Plum Blossom in Liverpool?
