The postbox painter

Until earlier this month, when our local postboxes started looking shiny, I had never considered postbox maintenance.

Today I watched everything around a well used box turn a shade of red (including the workman), as the old paint was ground off. I'm no expert, but I guess that's going to stain, and look a bit odd for a while.

I expect in right now it is an odd looking pink colour, after being covered in primer. In a couple of days the decorators will have returned, and it will back to being the iconic red again.
