Anzac Biscuits

I baked these for a meeting of delegates from all the WI's in the Yeovil area. Now can someone from down under explain to me why biscuits made of butter, oatmeal, flour, sugar and dried fruit are called ANZAC biscuits? Is this what you feed your soldiers on? They are delicious, so no complaints from me!
