Waldo Plus Ten
A year ago, on the first day of spring, I published a photo of my neighbor's crabapple tree in the rain. Today it is warm and sunny, so Ozzie and I set out with Waldo to photograph the tree again. I still don't know this neighbor too well, although she has a reputation on the street for being "the crazy lady". I'm sure she put me in the same category if she happened to look out her window and see me with my camera balancing Waldo on a branch of her tree….
We carried on to Dana's house which we found full of boys on the couch, watching basketball on TV, and discussing their "brackets". I'm not au fait with the whole "March Madness" aspect of college basketball playoffs, beyond the fact that President Obama is announcing his choices, and Warren Buffett has promised a billion $s (yes, with a "B"!) to anybody getting the whole thing right. Incentive enough to hang out on the couch on a beautiful spring break day watching basketball!
Upstairs, Peter and Dana dug out some Where's Waldo? books while I languished in one of the matching relining chairs (with cup holders) in the game room. Clearly, the original Waldo still has an attraction, because today's photo presented itself aa genuine search for the elusive fellow with the striped shirt and funny hat! Just like the old days--well, almost. Everybody is ten years older except for the two Waldos!
I'm sending as much of our fine spring weather as I can to all of you who are still digging out of the snow, or braving stiff winds and rain for your blips! Instead of shoveling snow, we need to figure out how to dig out all the once spectacular ice plant in front of our house, (see my post of 4/14/13) and plant sturdier replacements.
Happy spring everybody!
