The first day of spring?

Today is the March equinox, the day when northern hemisphere starts to tilt towards the sun.
To put it another way, today the sun rose exactly in the east and will set exactly in the west. The day was 12 hours long, over the whole planet. Tomorrow the sun will rise slightly north of east and set slightly north of west, which gives us northerners days longer than 12 hours. Conversely the southern hemisphere gets shorter days.
The further north you are the quicker the days increase in length, so from today we in mid-Sweden get longer days than our family in Britain.
Traditionally this is reckoned the first day of spring.
This photograph was taken a few minutes after the Earth tilted to the north, which was at 16:47 GMT (UT). Somehow it doesn't look much like spring...
