First day of spring

It certainly didn't feel like spring this morning when the rain made some parts of the roads to fast flowing streams.

Amazingly the sun made it through and now the sky is blue!

A friend of mine told me that the real first day of spring is when the first candle on a horse chestnut is lit (by that I think she means the first blossom to appear on a horse chestnut). Well, here it is, you can see where the blossom will be eventually but it is not yet in bloom so spring is not yet quite here yet.
