Silence

Today's not a day to work or study. Today's a day to write poetry. And that's exactly what we did.
It was raining outside and we were sitting in a class. We opened the windows, closed our eyes and just listened to all that we could hear.
Then, we opened our eyes, wrote down the words that came to us and those words transformed into poems.
We read to each other poems that came to us through air and sounds.
This one is written by one of my student.
Yes, some days you just need poetry.
Our poems will not save the world, but as a teacher in our school shared in his This I Believe speech, it will save us.
