What a day we had! We woke up early to drop daddy off at the airport. On the way to the airport we had this conversation.
Miles: "why am I in the car? Where are we going?"
Mom: "we are taking daddy to the airport"
Miles: "He's going to Nebraska?"
Dad: "No, that's next month, I'm going to Seattle"
Miles: "To see Charlotte?"
...the conversation went on for awhile as Miles tried to understand why dad would go to Seattle and not see cousin Charlotte.
Then he had a great day at school and when I picked him up I surprised him by telling him we were going to have dinner with Grandpa C. The guys had a lot of fun catching up and I had to laugh when out of nowhere Miles asked Grandpa C, "can you tell me the story of when you were a boy" Apparently on their Sundays together Grandpa C tells Miles all the stories of when he was a boy...fishing and swimming in the river and lots more. He told me the same stories when I was growing up, but he always started them, "When I was a young pup"
So glad the tradition goes on another generation.
After dinner we drove back to the airport to pick up Daddy (just a day trip) and Miles was obsessed with checking out the airplanes, naturally.
Sending all our love and positive thoughts to Seattle
