House Eating Plant

I couldn't figure out why the left side of this plant was longer than the right. I finally discovered that part of the right side was tucked behind the hutch and had "roots" 1-3" long and 1/4" in diameter "attached" to my walls (which were newly painted less that 2 years ago). I think it got "mad" when I detached it because the leaves started turning yellow and falling off - note the bare branch. Needless to say I need to do a little work with this plant.
