An unexpected bonus of the trambles was the appearance of a cycle path beside the line between Balgreen Road and the start of the path beside the former automatic busway, with a proper join to the Pinkhill/Carrick Knowe path, albeit after blocking access to it for a while with Heras fencing when the area of the join was a bed of gravel.
