My Year

Prinknash Monastery.

Even having a 6 hour drive today didn't stop me looking at signposts and wondering if I could find a photo opportunity. Today's sign for an Abbey turned out to be Prinknash Abbey near Stroud. A really peaceful location with a bird and deer park too, not that I had the time to visit!

Prinknash Abbey, a monastic community of men, who live in the spirit of the Rule of Saint Benedict, written about the year 500 AD. The community began in the Anglican Church, but converted to the Catholic Church, while living on Caldey Island, near Tenby, Wales, on 5th March 1913—one hundred years ago.
