Hazy Sun

Not one of my best images, this was taken through thin cloud. The Sun is not particularly active re sunspots at the moment but there are two incredibly long magnetic filaments stretching across the photosphere. Not seen in the visible spectrum, you need a special filter with a narrow bandwidth to view them. They consist of cool(ish) plasma held just above the surface by the Sun's magnetic field.
