Spreading Goodness

There was an aroma about the place today.

I was contemplating how difficult it was to get the sense of smell going through photography. Some food photos really gets get the tastebuds going and there are some glorious textured shots which you can almost touch. And you can hear the birdsong from a shot of a bird with its beak open and chest puffed up. And I am sure I can hear water when I look at some of the waterfall shots around. But smell?

A whiff is sometimes suggested by shots of flowers. But there are too many varieties with no perfume and, anyway, we're now so used to seeing flowers in all sorts of media, they remain for the eyes only.
